PARKS and RECREATION are part of any good story.
If you google the concept, you’ll either be transported to various city websites, or more likely, a plethora of poster and photograph memorabilia of the so titled American television sitcom will take over your computer like a comedic virus.
I don’t know what to tell you about why we’re here on this topic just quite yet. The surreal hiking trip with an ex-boyfriend though the Muir Woods? The near MISS going off a cliff during a Northern California ski trip? The family road trip to the Grand Canyon that ended up in three cars and one enormous Elk down on a remote highway?
So many mere misses that as I write this introduction it has become clear: recreation is a health hazard. To so willingly participate in thrill seeking suicide missions once and again, well I can only explain it as a luxury afforded to a privileged few.
AFTERALL.
Most people and just trying to survive their day.
And now,
please take a moment to appreciate the photo on your right of Nick Offerman titled How To Be A Man ☛ ☛ ☛
Well I wish I knew more about this becoming MAN thing, as I am a mother with three sons to raise - this information could be useful.
Somehow, and through time and culture eternal, there is always a sense that the process involves hurling small bits of ones male genitalia at open nature, and in some sort of earnestly risky manner.
I w-o-n-d-e-r…
There is DEFINITELY MORE to come.
